Venom was purchased as a ranch horse bred for cutting and turned into a pole and barrel horse. Kristy had him for 3years and entered him 6 times in poles and had this 14.1 hand Stallion competing in Texas clocking in the 1D and top of the 2D.  He was a standout pole horse with running two 20.2's within his first 20 times through poles.   Kristy later sold venom to Jaycie Byler who was needing a pole horse and she and venom connected right away. She went on to win Nationals several times and also win state several times on venom. With their fastest time clocking a 19.8.  What an incredible stallion who never knew he was one and ran the same pattern every time.

About Elkheart Ranch LLC

Elkheart Ranch LLC was started by Kristy Lee Cook-Orr, who is known from selling her horse to audition for American Idol in Season 7.  She shortly after started up a foundation for rescuing, rehabbing, and re-training racehorses off the track, finding them homes in barrel racing, jumping, English, dressage and some even went back to racing after she got them back on track.  Now she is training her own barrel and pole horses having success with the past horses she's trained. Taking her time and putting a good foundation on them.  Typically she trains and sells one a year, and they go fast when they are up for sale so don't hesitate if you're looking for a nice horse.  Kristy's horses are pretty drama free and easy to run and ride.   Most of the horse issues in the industry are not from the horse its from the rider.  Our approach is to make the arena a good experience and a place they want to be.   In and out of the arena we strive to make safe and fun athletes
